History

Hoegaarden® (pronounced Hu-garden) is the original Belgian wheat or white beer.  The beer has roots going back to 1445, when in the village of Hoegaarden®, with the help of local monks, a recipe was developed in which traditional ingredients such as mineral water, unmalted wheat, malted barley and hops were balanced with spicy coriander and a hint of orange peel.

Eminently drinkable, Hoegaarden® has a unique cloudy-white appearance as a result of extremely complex brewing process whereby the brand is first top fermented and then is refermented within the bottle or keg. The brand's unique appearance is mirrored by its one-of-a-kind taste - the naturally refreshing taste experience.
